When you visit us at the dealership to buy a new car, you have many selection criteria: comfort, fuel economy, safety, reliability, build quality, and so on.
At Groupe Beaucage, we recognize that these criteria are legitimate. That's one of the reasons we offer you a varied selection of models from different brands.
When shopping for a used vehicle, you weigh similar factors, but one stands out above the others: reliability. So here are five used SUVs that meet this important criterion.
Top 5 most reliable used SUVs
1. Toyota RAV4
The latest generation of the Toyota RAV4, offered from 2013 to 2018, set sales records for the brand in the compact SUV segment. In reliability surveys, it's always at the top. Its 2.5-litre 4-cylinder engine is a benchmark.
2. Honda HR-V
In the subcompact SUV segment, the HR-V, which arrived four years ago, quickly built a solid reputation for durability. It too has a bulletproof 4-cylinder engine, and as a bonus, its interior layout gives it cargo capacity on par with compact SUVs.
3. Mitsubishi Outlander
The Mitsubishi Outlander may not be the most popular vehicle in its segment, the same one as the Toyota RAV4. It may not be the most modern or the most refined either. On the other hand, it's one of the few in its class to offer a V6 engine and a 5,000-lb towing capacity. And when it comes to reliability, Mitsubishi ranks among the best.
4. Honda Pilot
In the next size category, midsize SUVs, the Honda Pilot sets a strong example. Its 3.5-litre V6 is a tireless workhorse. As a bonus, it seats seven and has a towing capacity that should meet your needs.
5. Toyota Highlander
Finally, if you're looking for a rival to the Honda Pilot, just look at Toyota's Highlander. It's every bit as reliable as the Honda, if not more. Plus, if fuel economy is a priority for you, hybrid versions can be found on the used market.
Other products, notably from the Kia and Hyundai groups, as well as some from Subaru and General Motors, have reliability ratings that are sometimes acceptable, sometimes good. For these vehicles, Groupe Beaucage representatives can give you the insight you need to make the right decision.
